The 83rd Academy Awards were last night and I am back on the blog after a fairly lengthy hiatus! For movie and fashion lovers alike, the Oscar's is the biggest television event of the year. I've been looking forward to it was weeks and the red carpet definitely didn't disappoint. Here is my list of this year's best dressed ladies:
Hilary Swank in Gucci Couture. Hilary was stunning last night-- This is one woman who always holds herself with such grace on the red carpet and last night was no exception. She was just so lovely and so was her dress. She kept her hair and jewellery simple and let her jeweled, feather ombre dress take the spotlight.
Mila Kunis in Elie Saab. I absolutely loved this dress, the colour, the cut, the lace. It was simple, yet elegant-- she may not have been nominated for an oscar, but without question Mila is nominated for my best dressed list.
Gwenyth Paltrow in Calvin Klein. This dress is stunning, it is just so simple and beautiful, if only the same could be said for Gwen's performance of her Oscar nominated song Coming Home... I was unimpressed, especially after her fantastic performance at the Grammy's.
Celine Dion in Armani Prive. A little shoutout to Canada's favourite songstress, it's hard to believe Celine gave birth to twin boys just four months ago. She looked fantastic in this curve hugging Armani Prive dress.
Natalie Portman in Rodarte. All eyes were on Natalie last night from her best actress win to this beautiful dress. Natalie made some questionable fashion choices throughout awards season, so I was happy to see her in Rodarte, the same house that dressed her for Black Swan.
Melissa Leo in Marc Bouwer. I am giving an honourable mention to Best Supporting Actress winner Melissa Leo. I've heard so many negative reactions to her dress, but I have to say I thought she looked amazing. The lace overlay was delecate, which complimented the strong cut of the dress. She was age appropriate and still on trend.

Oh celine.
